The 2020 WorkSafe Club Safety Fund is now open. Over the past 18 years, WorkSafe has helped over 300 rural football clubs with funding and assistance and will continue to support clubs through the WorkSafe Club Safety Fund.

Volunteering Victoria, in partnership with the Victorian Government, is producing a Victorian State of Volunteering Report. It is estimated that over 58,0000 people volunteer in the sport and recreation sector in Victoria each year.

The Regional Sport Victoria – COVID-19 and Community Sport Series is open to all sporting clubs across regional Victoria, providing support and advice to help your club at this unprecedented time.

The Victorian Government has provided specific advice in relation to COVID-19 and community sport.  The easing of restrictions means that sporting clubs, leagues and associations can plan and gradually roll out a return to activity. 

COVID-19 has brought about many challenges for community sporting clubs, particularly in relation to sponsorship agreements and fundraising activities.

As we move through the COVID-19 landscape, many clubs will be starting to plan and prepare for the recommencement of their sport or active recreation. Whilst we are still required to maintain social distancing, clubs are encouraged to connect with their committees through online video conferencing.

Basketball Ballarat have been awarded Basketball Victoria’s Most Inclusive Basketball Association award for 2019. Sports Central are proud to have partnered with Basketball Ballarat to support their work around inclusive participation.
