Michael Flynn – Executive Officer
Michael has worked with Sports Central since 2006 taking on the Executive Officer role in 2013. Michael completed a Sport Management and an Exercise Science degree at University of Ballarat and has a wide range of experience both professionally and personally at club, association, regional and state levels of sport. Michael remains actively involved in cricket locally as a player and committee member.
Andrew Milligan – Programs Manager
Andrew has worked with Sports Central as the Programs Manager since 2014. Originally from Adelaide, Andrew completed an Advanced Diploma in Management at Torrens Valley Institute and has developed a broad combination of skills through being employed in the sport and active recreation industry at community, government and club level since 2000. Andrew is actively involved in sport locally, serving as a member of the AFL Goldfields Region Council and supporting Ballarat District Golf with the delivery of their junior development program.
Caitlin Johnston – Project Coordinator
Caitlin began working with Sports Central as Project Coordinator in 2023 having graduated with an MSc in Performance Coaching from The University of Stirling, in her home country, Scotland. Prior to this, Caitlin completed her bachelor’s degree in Sports Coaching and Sports Development and has worked in various hands-on roles in the field since the beginning of her studies. Caitlin is heavily involved in soccer locally, both as a player and as the Women and Girls Coordinator at Ballarat City Football Club.
Mat Begbie – Project Coordinator
Mat started in 2025 as a Project Coordinator. Mat has a Sport Management degree from Federation University and personal and professional experience working across multiple sports including experience in a participation role with AFL Victoria and an Association administration within the Central Highlands region. Mat is currently the captain of Buninyong Cricket Club First XI and has a passion for developing young athletes and creating opportunities for everyone in our community to play sport.
Kim Lewry – Finance Manager
Kim has worked at Sports Central since 2010 in an administrative capacity, taking on the role of Finance Officer in 2013. Kim has a wide variety of bookkeeping experience, specialising in the not for profit sector, which she finds the most rewarding. Kim likes to keep healthy and physically active by cycling, walking, yoga and more recently, rock and roll dancing. Always happy to try new active recreation challenges!
