Marianne Hendron (Chair)
Michael Flynn – Executive Officer
Michael has worked with Sports Central since 2006 taking on the Executive Officer role in 2013. Michael completed a Sport Management and an Exercise Science degree at University of Ballarat. and has a wide range of experience both professionally and personally at club, association, regional and state levels of sport. Michael remains actively involved in cricket locally as a player and committee member.
Andrew Milligan – Programs Manager
Andrew has worked with Sports Central as the Programs Manager since 2015. Originally from Adelaide, Andrew completed an Advanced Diploma in Management at Torrens Valley Institute and has developed a broad combination of skills through being employed in the sport and active recreation industry at community, government and club level since 2000. Andrew is actively involved in sport locally, serving as the Junior Coordinator for Ballarat District Golf.
Tom McCarthy – Project Coordinator
Access for All Abilities Program Lead
Into his second stint with the organisation, Tom recommenced at Sports Central in May 2020. Tom had previously been with the organisation for two and a half years before undertaking a role at Cricket Victoria in 2018. Tom has a double degree in Business Management and Sports Management from Federation University. He’s an active member of the sporting community serving as a player and volunteer within local cricket and football.
Natalie Grero – Project Coordinator
Regional Sport Program Lead
Natalie commenced her role at Sports Central as Project Coordinator in August 2019. She has a background working in local government in a range of areas including Youth, Community Development, Community Engagement and Marketing and events for Moorabool Shire Libraries. With an Arts degree in Recreation Leadership, Natalie has a passion for creating a sporting environment where women and girls have the same opportunities for involvement and to succeed. Locally Natalie is involved as a committee member and player at the Bacchus Marsh Netball Association and as a committee member at the Bacchus Marsh Cricket Club, as well as a board member for the Darley Neighbourhood house.
Kim Lewry – Finance Manager
Kim has worked at Sports Central since 2010 in an administrative capacity, taking on the role of Finance Officer in 2013. Kim has a wide variety of bookkeeping experience, specialising in the not for profit sector, which she finds the most rewarding. Kim likes to keep healthy and physically active by cycling, walking, yoga and more recently, rock and roll dancing. Always happy to try new active recreation challenges!
Simon Jinks – Project Coordinator
Ballarat Primary School Sports Coordinator/ Responsible Alcohol Management Facilitator
Simon has worked with Sports Central since the start of 2016, taking on the Ballarat Primary School Sports Coordinator role as well supporting a range of other projects. Simon also delivers Responsible Service of Alcohol courses, Liquor Licence Seminars and delivers the Good Sports program. Simon completed a Bachelor of Sport Science, a Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation, a Masters of Teaching and has a Training and Assessment qualification. Simon is involved in community sports through playing and committee roles at his cricket club and as a Sports Trainer with a local football club. Simon also enjoys to play social rounds of golf.
Bridget Franc – Project Coordinator
Daughters of the West Facilitator
Bridget commenced her role with Sports Central in 2019 as facilitator of the Daughters of the West program. Bridget has a Bachelor of Nursing Degree from University of Ballarat and has a wide range of experiences working with young people to promote health and wellbeing. Bridget has also been actively involved in community sport as a netball coach and volunteer.
