As the Regional Sports Assembly for the Central Highlands, Sports Central deliver a range of programs and services for the community sport and active recreation sector. The organisation was established in 1984 as the Central Highlands Regional Sports Assembly and has maintained a proud history of serving its members and stakeholders across the region since that time. We service the Central Highlands region which includes six local government areas – Ararat Rural City, City of Ballarat, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Moorabool and Pyrenees Shires.
Sports Central is a not for profit organisation led by a Board of Management that drives the governance and strategy of the organisation. Our staff deliver programs and services throughout the region across the key areas of:
- Development and support
- Welcoming and inclusive sport
- Participation
- Healthy and safe communities
We are an independent organisation that works across all sport and active recreation groups and organisations. We work in and with our communities to achieve a lasting impact to strengthen sport and active recreation in all its forms.
