Sports Central, in partnership with the Victorian Government, Sports Focus and Mt Alexander Falcons Women’s Sports Club, is offering two free Equal the Contest Workshops for clubs in the Central Highlands. Following the success of the groundbreaking documentary Equal the Contest, a new workshop has been developed as a pilot program for community sports clubs.

The Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is now open to regional Local Government Authorities, aiming to deliver new and upgraded community sports infrastructure. Local clubs and organisations are advised to contact their Local Government Authority to express interest, seek support or be involved as a partner in an application.

The Victorian Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program is now open, helping sporting, community and event organisations to deliver significant sporting events in Victoria through event assistance, event development and strategic event planning grants.

The Australian Sports Commission is working with researchers from Federation University to understand the cost to deliver and play community sport. The research includes two surveys, one for local community sports clubs and the other aimed at participants engaged in club sport.

It is Cyber Security Awareness Month, and clubs and athletes are invited to take advantage of online training opportunities. A free eLearning course on cyber safety and security tailored for the sports community is also now available. Access valuable advice on recognising and addressing online abuse, along with guidance on how to report such incidents effectively.

The Victorian Government’s Get Active Kids Voucher Program is now open, providing financial assistance to eligible Victorian children and young people, helping families cover the costs of sport and active recreation activities.

Sports Central warmly invites you to attend our 2023-24 Annual General Meeting, where we will unveil an exciting new partnership initiative, the BASIC Clubs program. The AGM will be held on Tuesday 26th November from 5:00pm at Saxon House.

The Ballarat Sports Foundation’s scholarship applications are now open online for Ballarat’s up and coming sportspeople who have demonstrated potential to achieve and further develop in their chosen sport.

The Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program is now open. Access to this funding helps grassroots clubs and organisations address barriers in participation, develop safe and sustainable practices and build social and active local communities.

Clubs, associations and organisations have until Monday 25th September to become a Get Active Kids Activity Provider and help kids get involved in sport and active recreation this summer.
