Carers are encouraged to join a newly formed walk and talk support group. Held each Thursday morning in Bannockburn, the group is aimed at improving health and well-being whilst creating a supportive environment for like-minded people.
Supported by Golden Plains Shire in partnership with Sports Central, Leisure Networks, Parks Victoria and VicHealth, this group is aimed at carers living in Golden Plains who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends with a disability.
All carers within the region are encouraged to come along and join in the welcoming and friendly walking group.

Sports Central will be working with clubs on the Leading from the Front – Alcohol and Other Drugs Safety – We All Win pilot project over the next few weeks. Leading from the Front is a community sport health promotion initiative with the aim of raising awareness of health, safety and wellbeing issues across the Central Highlands.
Sports Central are excited to be supporting the delivery of Inclusive Sport in Schools in partnership with Special Olympics Australia. The program improves the health and wellbeing outcomes of students with an intellectual disability and autism through the delivery of inclusive sport and physical activity in a school setting.
