The 18th to 24th October 2021 is Gambling Harm Awareness Week, providing an opportunity to talk about the harms associated with gambling and the effects this can have on communities, families, friends, workplaces, and individuals.
Everyone has a role to play in preventing gambling harm.
Sports Central are proud to be a part of the Ballarat Community Health All-In Gambling Harm Prevention Project, along with many other organisations in the local community.
We are committed to the principles of preventing gambling harm for our staff, members and the Central Highlands sport and active recreation community.
Through our involvement in the project, we will:
The Victorian Government’s Get Active Kids Voucher Program is now open, offering up to $200 per child to help eligible Victorian families cover the costs of organised sport and active recreation activities. Designed to reduce financial barriers and encourage children and young people to get involved, the program supports both those returning to sport and those trying something new.
The Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program is now open, offering funding to help community sport and active recreation organisations grow and thrive. With grants available across five categories, the program supports grassroots clubs to reduce participation barriers, strengthen skills, and build active, connected local communities.
