Djerriwarrh Health Services are seeking up to 6 individuals to nominate as mentors for their sporting club or association within the Moorabool Shire to mentor and empower women and girls in sport.
By identifying as a mentor, you will learn community leadership skills to help discourage the use of alcohol and other drugs within your club or association, while driving actions that advance gender equality!
Potential training opportunities include:
· Gender Equity and Preventing Violence against Women
· Role Modelling and Championing
· Project Management
· Mentoring and leadership
· Responsible Service of Alcohol, Risks associated with Alcohol and Drug use and Harm Minimisation

Sport and Recreation Victoria have launched the first round of the Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program. The grants provide assistance to Aboriginal Victorians to participate in Aboriginal sporting carnivals, buy sports uniforms and equipment, as well as funding for travel and accommodation expenses for athletes to compete in state and national competitions.
The Australian Sports Commission’s Local Sporting Champions program are now open, providing financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.
