In honor of the late Peter Amor, the Ballarat Foundation United Way Inc. (the Ballarat Foundation), through the generosity of the Amor family, has established the ‘Peter Amor Sports Participation Fund’ to allow young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to participate in sport, by assisting with some of the financial barriers that may otherwise have prevented this.
Peter strongly believed in the value that sport played in building character, connecting people from all walks of life and allowing everyone a fair go. He had first-hand experience of how sport was able to unite people and wanted to extend this opportunity to as many people as possible.
The Peter Amor Sports Participation Fund Grant program distributes grants of up to $5,000 to sporting clubs, groups and organisations promoting sporting pursuits to provide access to, or encourage participation from, disadvantaged individuals and groups.
