That’s why VicHealth’s Growing Healthy Communities Grants are back for Round 2!

What’s on offer?
Grants are available for up to $150,000, from a total funding pool of $4.7 million. Initiatives will be funded for a maximum of two years and must be delivered between March 2026 and March 2028. 

Funding is available for organisations that support young Victorians (0-25 years) and their families to achieve good health and wellbeing.   

Who can apply?
Applications are welcome from sporting, community, cultural, recreational and creative organisations, and other not-for-profit organisations planning to undertake activity in Victoria. 

Challenge Statements
Applications must respond to one of the following challenges: 

  • Creating opportunities to participate in sport and active recreation across Victorian neighbourhoods, leading to benefits for active living, mental wellbeing and belonging.
  • Strengthening local food systems by creating new or improved places for communities to access, procure, grow and share healthy, local and culturally appropriate fresh foods.

Funding Tiers 

Tier 1: $10,000–$50,000 

  • Submit a full application directly via the VicHealth Funding Portal 
  • Applications close: 5pm, Wednesday 30 October 2025 
  • Optional: Submit a video application 

Tier 2: $50,001–$150,000 

  • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the VicHealth Funding Portal 
  • EOIs close: 5pm, Monday 8 September 2025 
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application (2–30 October 2025)
