Our thoughts go out to everyone across the Central Highlands region who has been impacted by flooding. The images we see both from individuals and sporting clubs are devastating, but seeing strangers come together to help their community is heartwarming.
We encourage you to reach out to your club members to check on their wellbeing. We know that for many people, sporting clubs are a major source of physical, mental and social wellbeing, so for some, knowing their club is thinking of them may be a big help.
We understand that many of you will still be dealing with your own personal circumstances, however when the time is right to return to your club, Sports Central and Regional Sport Victoria are here to help.
Regional Sport Victoria has developed a website resource to keep sporting clubs up to date with relevant information, including grants. As further information comes to light, this page will be updated accordingly. Visit the Community Sport Flood Recovery page.
The Victorian Government’s Get Active Kids Voucher Program is now open, offering up to $200 per child to help eligible Victorian families cover the costs of organised sport and active recreation activities. Designed to reduce financial barriers and encourage children and young people to get involved, the program supports both those returning to sport and those trying something new.
The Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program is now open, offering funding to help community sport and active recreation organisations grow and thrive. With grants available across five categories, the program supports grassroots clubs to reduce participation barriers, strengthen skills, and build active, connected local communities.
