Five community sporting organisations have partnered with Sports Central to take part in BASIC Clubs, a new program proudly supported by the City of Ballarat. Designed to help local clubs and associations become more inclusive, welcoming and accessible, BASIC Clubs is focused on creating safer, more respectful sporting environments for people of all backgrounds, abilities and experiences.

Whether a club or association is just beginning its inclusion journey or already embracing diversity, BASIC Clubs provides practical tools, expert guidance and tailored support to build stronger, more connected communities. The program includes inclusive practice checklists, action planning, mentoring and networking opportunities, empowering clubs to grow, thrive and lead the way in community sport.

The five participating organisations are Ballarat Bulldogs Football Netball Club, Ballarat District Golf, Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club, Ballarat Table Tennis Association and Special Olympics Ballarat.

Each organisation is working closely with Sports Central to co-design a customised action plan that strengthens inclusive practices and enhances day-to-day operations. They will also receive a professionally developed online profile to increase visibility, attract new members, engage potential sponsors and build stronger community partnerships.

The program will culminate in a celebration event, showcasing the progress and achievements of each participating organisation.
