As you may know the updated Victorian Child Safe Standards have been applicable since 1st July 2022. The standards support community organisations to become child safe organisations. Some sporting clubs and associations have already reviewed their operations and comply with the 11 Victorian Child Safe Standards, however others may still be working through the process of understanding and implementing them.
The Neighbourhood Houses in Ballarat have been working through the standards, making some improvements to the way they operate to ensure children are always and feel safe.
To assist other community organisations including sporting clubs and associations, Ballarat East Neighbourhood House as a part of the Community Governance Project are offering two workshops to introduce the updated Child Safe Standards. Each workshop will include an overview of the standards and some practical steps that can be taken implement them.
