Tuesday 3rd December is celebrated around the world as the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). A United Nations sanctioned day, IDPwD, aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

This year Sports Central will be celebrating IDPwD in Ararat as part of the Celebrating Accessibility event being hosted by Ararat Neighbourhood House and the Ararat & District Carers Group from 10:00am – 2:00pm at Alexandra Gardens. The event features a range of activities suitable for all ages and abilities include; walk/wheel around Lake Alexandra, face painting, sport activities, rock paining, storytelling, jumping castle, duck feeding, information stalls and more.

Ballarat Peer Action Group invites you to join them to CELEBRATE from 11:30am – 2:00pm on Tuesday 3rd December at the Rotunda (Wendouree Parade & Zoo Drive). There is a free BBQ and drinks, presentation of access and inclusion awards, entertainment from Ballarat Ukelele Club and guest speakers!

Moorabool Shire IDPwD Celebration will take place on Thursday 5th December from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Bacchus Marsh Public Hall.  A public event with guest speaker Carly Findlay, stall holders, presentation of Moorabool Shire Access & Inclusion Awards, free sausage sizzle and refreshments. Participants from Support Service performing Hip Hop and Choir. Art Show with local school participation. Access & Inclusion video will be launched.
