Sports Central is excited to be working together with Regional Sport Victoria (RSV) to bring back our popular Stride into Sport campaign ahead of the upcoming summer sporting season.

The campaign which first commenced 12 months ago is designed to help our sporting clubs with boosting player, volunteer, coaching and officiating registrations.

We know how difficult it has been for our local clubs and for State Sporting Organisations to attract mass numbers back into the fold since COVID-19, and the program has grown to help further boost local opportunities.

That’s why we are teaming up with several new and previous Victorian sports to help you all #strideintosport over the coming months and get active within your local community.

Sports Central wants to support the vital social connection and community aspect of summer sports and we have a real focus on getting kids more active more often through this and other programs we are rolling out.

Speaking about the importance of junior sport participation in regional Victoria, RSV Executive Officer Meghan Mayman said that it was wonderful working with RSA’s and State Sporting Organisations to help boost participation opportunities through regional communities.

“We are all aware of the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle, and we are keen to share the opportunities to get involved in sport within your local community,” she said.

“This campaign will not only help increase those participating in sport, but also intends to increase the awareness of ways to be involved in your club off-field – such as volunteering, coaching or umpiring.

Stride into Sport provides a spotlight on the registration period for community sport and recreation clubs across regional Victoria. Let’s inspire as many people as possible to make the next strides into sport.”
