The Emerging Leaders in Community Sport Program is a zero cost pilot program focused on offering a unique and innovative leadership development opportunity for young people (16-25) in the Central Highlands Region. The program aims to give a voice to the young people in our sporting community and to develop our outstanding young people, into positive contributors and role models within their sporting communities for years ahead.

Facilitated by Sports Central with the support of local industry and community leaders, this 6-session personal leadership program will explore topics, such as: effective communication skills, building strong club cultures, developing an authentic leadership style and much more.

Following the 6 session program, the emerging leaders will join their club leadership team or committee to co-design a relevant youth leadership position or club-based project.

Key Information: 

The Program will be a mix of Face to Face and online sessions, as outlined below:

  • From November 17th – Pre-Readings
  • November 24th – Online
  • December 1st – Online
  • December 8th – Face to Face (Ballarat)
  • January 20th – Online
  • January 27th – Face to Face (Ballarat)

Each session runs from 7:00 – 8:30 pm and is at zero cost.

*COVID-19 vaccine will be mandatory for participants unless they have a medical exemption. Face to face participation will be subject to valid COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
