VicHealth Awards Finalists 2019

Congratulations to Central Highlands based organisations and individuals who have been named as Finalists in the 2019 VicHealth Awards.

Hepburn is leading the way in 2019 with Hepburn Shire Council’s Active Women and Girls Strategy named a finalist in the ‘Promoting health through physical activity and sport’ category.  While Hepburn Health Service has been named a finalist in the ‘Improving Mental Wellbeing’ category for their initiative ‘The Cook, the Chef and Us’.

It is also fantastic to see local journalist Melanie Whelan from The Courier (Ballarat) named as a finalist in the ‘Outstanding reporting of women’s sport’ highlighting her opinion piece on the Tayla Harris image, Deb v Doubt’s (This Girl Can) and the story of two junior female cyclists and their inroads in cycling with support from the local veteran’s cycling club.

Winners of the 2019 VicHealth Awards will be announced at the ceremony on Tuesday 3 December.
