Leading Change to Prevent Violence Against Women

Women’s Health Grampians, CORE (Communities of Respect & Equality) and Sports Central wish to invite sporting clubs and organisations to a Presidents’ Dinner to be held on Monday 27 November 2017 at Sovereign Hill. The event, titled Building Communities of Respect and Equality – Leading Change in your Clubs or Associations to Prevent Violence Against Women, will focus on how sporting clubs and associations can take meaningful action to eradicate violence against women and their children within our community.

This is an opportunity to lead change in this area and promote gender equality. Guests will hear from key figures with experience in this area, including:

  • Peter Gordon, President, Western Bulldogs Football Club
  • Jerril Rechter, Chief Executive Officer, VicHealth
  • Margot Foster, Former Olympian, Lawyer and Vicsport Chairman
  • Greg Anders, Former President, Ballarat Golf Club

Speakers will discuss the leadership required from all organisations to address the underlying causes of violence against women and how to contribute to building safe, equal and respectful communities for everyone.

This event is relevant to all leaders within any sporting club or association; please promote widely within your networks.
