J-Ball 3’s for All Abilities comes to Ballarat

Participants and families are asking what is next after a well-received AAA Hookin2Hockey program was piloted in Ballarat recently.

The six week pilot ran on Saturday mornings alongside the u10 local competition and was beneficial to all nine participants and the 13 volunteer coaches from Ballarat Hockey.  It was fantastic to see the local Hockey community embrace All Ability Hockey with open arms!

In answer to participants and families, Hockey Victoria and Hockey Ballarat are coming together to bring the community the next program on the AAA Hockey pathway…
J-Ball 3’s for All Abilities.

What is J-Ball 3’s for All Abilities?
J-Ball 3s for All Abilities is a new program designed as a natural progression from AAA Hookin2Hockey and will support participants to develop their fundamental skills and understanding of the game through game-based learning.

Each week’s sessions are run in two parts; a skills component, followed by 3v3 gameplay. The games are played on small boarded pitches, which enables the participants to be engaged in the play and touch the ball more frequently while learning the game of hockey.

Who is J-Ball 3s for all abilities for?
J-Ball 3’s for All Abilities is designed for any child (5-18 years old) who has completed AAA Hookin2Hockey and/or completely new to the sport of Hockey and wanting to engage in game-based learning in a supportive, and welcoming environment.

The pilot will feature high coach to participant ratios as well as a sensory area inside the clubrooms if participants need a break. The sensory area is designed to help participants deregulate and return to the session as they wish.
