Growing Cricket For Girls Fund

The Growing Cricket for Girls (GCG) Fund is open again! This has been established by Cricket Australia and the Commonwealth Bank to support the access to, and development of, girl’s only competitions at a community cricket level. The GCG Fund is seed funding, designed to fast track the establishment of new opportunities for girls to play cricket.

The Ballarat Cricket Association were successful in obtaining funding in 2016/17 and established the inaugural Under 13 Girls Competition. Eight teams were entered into this competition, from six local clubs and one secondary school. In total 85 girls played in the competition!

The Ballarat Cricket Association will once again offer this competition in the 2017/18 season and therefore encourage your club or school to apply for this funding for the 2017/18 season. Clubs and schools can apply for up to $2,000 to purchase playing kits, training equipment, coaching expenses, shade marquees, first aid kits and shirt embroidery. This is the perfect opportunity for your club or school to get involved in the competition in 2017/18.
